Design Characteristics
Each design page includes a list of "Characteristics". The
following diagrams illustrate how some of these dimensions are measured and
what various terms mean.
DWL = Designed Waterline Length.
A = Length overall of boat.
B = Length of waterline is the length of the boat at the designed
waterline.
C = Beam is the overall width of the boat.
D = Draft is the depth of the hull structure below the designed
waterline.
G = Hull depth is the overall height of the hull.
H = Height overall is the height of the boat including cabin and
windshield.
DISPLACEMENT = The theoretical designed weight of the boat plus
everthing aboard including passengers, gear, tanks, motors, etc. The
displacement will always be more than the boat weight.
HULL WEIGHT = The bare weight of the hull only, based on materials
specified.
