Malahini by Bill WhitneyJune 30, 2008 In case you are wondering what I'm doing with the Malahini plans, I was delayed all winter because of temperatures. Now, at last, I've been able to get back to work. We are not fortunate to have your weather except in July and August.
The entire hull was made from marine grade plywood with
mohogany laminated and then stained. The bottom was then
glassed and painted. The sides were not glassed but currently
have 5 coats of resin. I still need another 4-5 coats to
establish a good base(that means more and more sanding). Then
it will be coated with marine spar varnish. It should look
pretty good when finished. At that point I can turn it over
and begin the interior which will be changed somewhat with
custom seating, console, new electronics etc. I will send
photos later. |
