Console Skiff by Greg Mournahan, Bracebridge, Ontario, CanadaSeptember 30, 2008 This project was started on the console skiff in May 2007. The blueprints were adjusted to enlarge the boat to 17 feet 6 inches. Sprayrails were added to the boat which was a real bonus in the end.
Hull including painting and graphics were completed by October 2007. Due to our weather, only a few interior components were fabricated over the winter. Completion of the interior started again in May 2008.
Interior was completed, painted and ready for the water in August 2008. The exterior is a slate gray metallic with gold and burgundy graphics. The trim is in mahogany with brass accents. Interior is done in snow white with a sprayed rubber floor for easy cleaning. Upholestered cushions are done in white and a full bimini top is in burgundy.
Mercury 40HP 4 stroke motor will do 26 mph with one person onboard.
The boat was alot of fun to build. Truly a labor of love. I am constantly receiving compliments and questions everywhere I go.. |
