Monaco by Alan Close, Logan, Queensland, Australia
8 September 2010My name is Alan Close and live in Logan, (halfway between Brisbane and the Gold Coast) Queensland, Australia. I originally bought the Monaco plans in 1997 but only started the build in May 2008. The frame timber is Hoop Pine and is planked in 4mm Hoop Pine ply. The bright timber is Red Mahogany, a local eucalypt (Eucalyptus resinifera). The boat is being powered by a Toyota Lexus 4 Litre V8 driving through a Borg Warner 71C velvet drive.
The images I have chosen are relative to some of the questions raised on the Boatbuilder Forum or are of features unique to this build. I hope they will be as helpful as those posted by other builders were to me.
