Good start to power boat racing season

By Tackline

THE NATAL Aquatic and Power Boat Club got its new season's club racing off to a good start at Peattie's Lake yesterday with a full programme of events.

Sixteen boats took part in the various races, and they were divided into three sections - hydroplanes, inboards and outboards.

Several new boats put in an appearance, amoung them being two very well prepared inboards. These were built and raced by Mike Jackson and Roy Cutbush, both of whom collected their fair share of spoils in their section....

Results were:

SCRATH RACES

...Inboards: M. Jackson, 1; F. Robb, 2; R. Cutbush, 3.

HANDICAP RACES

... Race 3: ...Inboards: F. Robb, 1; M. Jackson, 2; D. Douglas, 3.

HIGH POINTS

Heat 1: ... Inboards: R. Cutbush, 1; M. Jackson, 2; D. Douglas, 3. ...

Note: The clipping we have is not dated, probably mid-70's. I am not sure of this, but I believe that Mr. Jackson said that Mr. Cutbush's boat was also a Tornado. brw
