: : I am building a Double Eagle +10% for a 25 foot boat. I wonder if a fifth wheel trailer would be an advantage over a ball hitch type. I see on the RV's that with a fifth wheel arrangement you can tow a much larger RV than with a ball hitch. How would this apply to a boat trailer?
: I recently heard that the fifth wheel doesnt allow as much traction as a ball hitch, something about the weight, like the ball has more traction on a slippery ramp than the 5th wheel.
: Any input on this?
::Traction -- Change your rearend out from a limited slip to a positive traction.Any spring and rearend company does this, and you can order new trucks with positive traction. Next is the traction rating of your tires. As i said the boys pulling larger dual horse trailers have changed to positive traction and are very happy.
