: How do these specs differ from each other? Is it true that BS 1088 is a British equavalent to our A-B Marine?

: Is it also true that BS 6566 equavalent to B-B Marine?

BS6566 and BS1088 are Brit specs commonly used everywhere. BS1088 is better than BS6566, but probably not needed on most designs. It has to do with cores and size of knots allowed. No voids in interior plies and such. APA marine is good. In general, all use a WBP glue (waterproof) as opposed to interior glue (not good). If you find marine fir, it is sometimes higher priced than BS6566 Meranti. There is a good explanation of this in the Wood & Plywood Information section on this site. Or go to www.edensaw.com. They have some good info too.
