I used tint in the epoxy on a kayak I built about a year ago. I finished it so that you can see the wood grain, and topped it with Epifanes varnish. I've beat the heck out of it and have not had any problems. When glassing, I did the wet-out coat with the regular epoxy, but used tinted epoxy on subsequent coats. I picked the tint up from Raka (Raka.com). A 1oz jar goes a long way. Hopes that helps.
