How do I stain the frames, with epoxy ecapsulation?

I am cutting out the frames for Double Eagle. The white oak materiel is very pretty and I would like to leave it stained and clear epoxy encapsulated. How do I handle the process? If I glue up the gussets first, then the squeeze-out will barrier the stain near the gussets. If I stain the individual parts first, then does the gusset glue adhere to the stain?
Can I add stain to the epoxy so that the epoxy itself contains the stain,then the squeeze-out will be the wanted color?
How might I make this work?
