It is hard to get fiberglass to make a sharp bend as over the chines. It always wants to ris up and maka nice smooth curve. It would have helped to radius the chines (and then build back up to a more square edge (see the glen-l webletters ot the fiberglassing book) or to have used pins, staples and clamping strips (wrappedin packing tape or saran wrap) to hold it down until it cured. Additionally the screws should have been puttied and sanded smooth to minimize ripples and bubbles (many bubbles are over screws).

At this point you can cut out the bubbles, sand with a 60 or 80 grit disk to feather the edges and then apply more epoxy and fiberglass. Weren't you planning on continuing the glass up the sides to your spray rail?

I had problems at the chine (and stem) on my boat and just wrapped over the curve and then trimmed it off. The photos don't show the row of push pins I had going down the stem when I put the first side on.

The fiberglass on the sides only needs to be 4 or 6 oz cloth (minimize expense).

It really helps ot have a sheltered location and plenty of help when fiberglassing. You got stuck with rain, I always seem to get a hot day for 'glassing.
