I had a flat bottom outboard and it cavitated or ventilated in a turn. It had a small skeg on it but not a motor well. I believe it was my skeg giving the ventilation in a turn. Otherwise the prop always got a good bite no matter how it was loaded or sea conditions. Even at that, it only cavitated turning one way, the other way was fine.
Do you have a skeg of any sort, or turn fin?
