just a note: I had a friend over to the house a few weeks ago and I had nearly forgotten that I was building a boat as I hadnt had a chance to work on it in months..he asked about the boat and I took him to the basement to see the progress...He is a furniture maker..he saw a shelf that I had made for the boat and asked what kind of varnish I used so the grain stood out nicely...i told him that was epoxy over glass...he really didnt believe me...till I roughted up the edge and exposed the glass fiber..and I am certainly no expert in anything other than plumbing...Steve
