Put as much HP as you can in. I have a 420 HP Chevy small block I'm putting in mine. RPM and prop selection (and Slip) will dictate top-end, not HP alone. Hope mine sees 80+ on radar or GPS. Build a good set of cavitation plates to make the boat "think it's longer than it is". BTW I have seen a Cracker with a big block 454, although never had a ride in it. Also know of one person who had one that was blown alcohol small block Chevy. Everything depends on how big your "Cajones" are and your budget. E-mail me if you want to talk.
