Flotation is always a good idea. If you buy a commercial hull it will almost certainly have foam in a compartment somewhere for additional bouyancy. That being said, I'd also make one other serious suggestion: Add an electrical bilge pump! They are availible mail order from places like West Marine and are relitively inexpensive (like 20 bucks). I have a 20 ft IO cuddy,and I've installed 2 1200 gpm Rule (that's the brand name)pumps. It's great, cheap insurance that you won't get swamped.
