Playing devil's advocate here: Yes the inboard has shallower draft, BUT if you hit something you can do very expensive and immediately disabling damage. The OB or IO will usually just kick up with at most a chunk out of the skeg or prop. That's one of the reasons I love OB's so much!
Mark, any experience with fins under an OB? I'd love to improve my turns.
