Plywood for the Rebel

Hello,

I am gonna build the Rebel, just waiting for the ordered plans. Only thing is, how thick the Plywood has to be. For the Bottom planking the Bill of materials states 3/8". This would be 9,3mm. I can get here 8mm or 10mm Plywood. Of course, i would like to use the 8mm, since this makes a price difference of 25%+. Would it be safe to use 8mm for bottom planking? 1/4" for sideplanking and the deck would be 6,4mm. I can get 6mm. I think the 0,4mm won't be a big deal? If necessary i use the 10mm for bottom planking. I do not want to risk hazardous situations because of maybe 400$, but i also wonder if it's OK because of the higher weight.

As far as i know, Dominik has built his Rebel using 4mm and 6mm Playwood and 2,5mm Mahagony Veneer. Would be pretty close to my 6mm and 8mm thoughts :-)

So thanks for all input.

PS: i want to power the boat with 70-90PS. But i believe, that's not the Problem, since the force from the Engine goes mainly to the stringers and frames, and does not stress the Plywood very much?
