I found a web site called www.woodfinder.com that so far seems pretty helpful. I simply entered my zip code and it listed the 10 nearest wood suppliers. I'm in the St. Louis area and called one of the shops today (A-Plus Hardwoods). It's about 30 miles from me. The guy seemed informed about boatbuilders and said they had a lot of Honduran Mahogany at $6.44 per board-foot.
I'll qualify this by saying that I haven't dealt with them yet - just the phone call so far - but it sounded like they had a big stock of exotic and hard woods.
Anyway... something to try out.

: Mike Lechowqski asked for a plywood supplier in North-east PA.
: As many of you know, it is not always easy to find boatbuilding plywood and lumber. In the Useful Information & Suppliers section of the Glen-L web site there is a List of Lumber Suppliers. This list is primarily the result of builder input. It only gets corrected when someone reports that change is needed.
: If you have found a supplier that is not on the list, please share it with your fellow builders. Send it to Glen-L and it will be added to the list. Let me know if there are any corrections to the sources posted.
