Does this sound logical to you?....the sounder that I purchased says that the transducer can be mounted inside the hull unless it is a cored hull or a wooden boat. My hull is 1/2" plywood with fiberglass/epoxy. I guess that pretty much makes it wooden. I was thinking of coring a four inch round hole in the bottom and making a solid plug from cloth/roven roving/matt etc... saturated with epoxy obviously and then plug the hole that I cut with that and mount the transducer to the top of the plug that I made. Will that still be structurally sound at that point or should I make a donut shaped plywood "frame" to expoxy to the top side of the cut out that covers the cut about 1/2" all the way around on both sides to provide added support to the plug? (Hope that makes sense)
Bottom line is for aesthetics I do not want a transom mounted transducer. And thru hull transducer too expensive.
