I have a 1967 Uniflite 16' that I removed the old sole and replaced with 3/8" 5 ply marine grade and I have a layer of fiberglass mesh 6oz. with two layers of resin. I was thinking about building some box bases and attatching swivel seats to it. To attatch the boxes to the floor I was going to use angles. However, now I am wanting to instead attatch pedestals to the sole I am sure that I need to reinfoce this by adding additional ply to the bottom of the pedestal base. What I am unsure about is what should I use to fasten the base ply to the sole, and the pedestal base to the ply. I don't want all of my time and money to be wasted when the whole thing rips a chunk out of my sole. I would appreciate any information.
