Gary.....You are right a lightweight foam coated with glass and epoxy on both sides is a much lighter way to build a boat than with plywood. Especially if the wood is encapsulated. You asked about the stitch and glue method which would be even lighter than a frame and plywood method. Race boats used to be built with the frame and plywood method using spruce and Okume plywood but that became too heavy when foam core composite construction was upgated with newer core materials now the old wooden race boats are collector items...

: 1. Can the Glen-L SneakBox be built with core cell foam? If yes, do you have any tips or suggestions?
: 2. Can this foam be used in a stich and glue application, without the wires used for stitching tearing through the foam?
