Try using square head screws, or Quadrex recess screws which are a cross between square drive and phillips screws. In the meantime make sure your screwdriver tips are the correct size, probably #2 and make sure they are new. These tips wear out when you are putting in lots of screws. Throw away any galvanized screws that have the head slots filled with galvanizing.
Mc Feeleys catalog has a lot of these typse of screws.
good luck

I have been attempting to dry fit boat parts together by clamping the parts, predrilling the holes and then screwing the screws into th chines and side pieces of a boat.
: I seam to be destroying more screw heads than it is worth. I cannot get the screws to back out with a driver and bit and have had to resort to drilling out some of the screws.
: Should I use screws other than the galvanized screws listed on this site, or are there some type of sacrificial screws I could use. At $3.50 per 144 screws I don't want to waste any.
: Thanks
