You guys please tell me if this is a good idea. On building a wood inboard, like a Double Eagle, I am doin a lot of head scratching and worrying about engine/shaft/shaft hole layout and alignment. What if you build a "dummy" section of your hull first that has all the pertinant stations about as wide as the stringers. Then you could "see" the layout and take a trial run at drilling the shaft hole/locating mechanicals.
Would this be wasted manhours?
