ERIC ,

DOUBLE DIAG PLANKING IS PLANKING WITH STRIPS OF
PLYWOOD INSTEAD OF SOLID PIECES.(SEE GLEN-L'S
BOOK - BUILDING WITH PLYWOOD.....

TO ANSWER YOU QUESTION ON STRENGTH OF GLEN-L'S
DESIGN WITH SOLID PIECES I HAVE NO DOUBT IT WILL BE AS STRONG OR STRONGER THAN THE DOUBLE PLANKING I AM USING....IT IS JUST LESS WORK TO BEND SMALL STRIPS AT THE BOW THAN TO BEND LARGE 3/8" THICK
PLYWOOD....
AS TO USING TWO LAYERS OF GLASS....IT DEPENDS ON
IF YOU USE POLYESTER OR EPOXY. I FEEL ONE LAYER
OF EPOXY WILL BE SUFFICIENT AND ADD LESS WEIGHT AND BUILDING TIME TO YOUR HULL.....BUT STILL USE
TWO LAYERS AT THE EDGES AS RECOMMENDED BY GLEN-L
P.S. SORRY IT TAKES ME SO LONG TO RESPOND....
PAUL
