: As stable as a 17 foot boat can be. My friends all seem to comment on how much room there is,
a few have turned pretty green tho.
Hi -
"Roustabout" is primarily a "calm seas" boat -
as she slams and bangs quite a bit in rough or
choppy seas. She's a great water skiing boat,
flies like the wind on smooth water - but I
wouldn't take her into rough water anywhere away
from land! I built mine in 75, powered with a
Mustang 289-Ford V-8 and Volvo I/O. She's
a little rear end heavy but OK. She's served us well,
but again - Roustabout is NOT a rough water,
or off shore boat at all! After 23 years of service,
only the epoxy paint coat is worst for wear! Built her
totally out of marine plywood, resourcinal glue,
galv. screws, and epox-embregnated fiberglass
cloth. PS - I've had her up to 51 mph, by myself,
in smooth water.
