: Anyone have any experience in color matching wood putty? I had a serious blowout of the grain on some very nice Honduran Mahogany. Trim router grabbed the grain and pow....
: Wood-tex looks ok dry, but when I add penetrating epoxy the wood turns a nice deep reddish brown and the putty stays pink. This wouldn't be much of a problem, but it is on the cap rail, at the bow... VERY visible.

Paul... try using some powdered pigments, like Burnt Umber or Burnt Sienna. Mix small amounts and match on a scrap piece with the epoxy on it .
.... by the way, How is the Mai Tai project going? Last time I heard, you were adding a pilot house and a bow flare.... Post Pictures!
