: Wood-tex looks ok dry, but when I add penetrating epoxy the wood turns a nice deep reddish brown and the putty stays pink. This wouldn't be much of a problem, but it is on the cap rail, at the bow... VERY visible.
Paul... try using some powdered pigments, like Burnt Umber or Burnt Sienna. Mix small amounts and match on a scrap piece with the epoxy on it .
