I recommend stongly against tinting.
Use the wood flour and resin and then lighten it up with high density silica.
The wood will change color over time due to UV exposure and long term colro chag form the Amines inthe hardener. The areas I used the wood flour + silica mix have tracked the rest of the boards perfectly. The areas I tinted or used microspheres for matching have stayed the original color as the mahogany darkened and the walnut lightened.

You may want to use a fine point pen to add "grain lines" back in. A regular felt tip (sharpie) will bleed into the epoxy (yes I have demonstrated this). My next experiment would be to use black lacquer based marker or peint to do the grain lines (untried) such as the Koenig brand.
