Mark, I have used the Smith & Co. 5 year clear. This stuff is really nice. I used it on the last boat I had and it is still shiny and clear after 6 1/2 years. The good news is it lasts as advertized. the bad news is it is labor intensive (it uses a clear penetrating epoxy as a base then clear polyurethane coatings on top, and at least 5-6 coats of the poly), and it is kinda expensive. however, it really brings out the grain and depth of the wood, and you don't have to recoat every season.
I am using it on my current project this time also.. hence the problem with the tint on the putty. (a few links down)
