I've read that the foam cuts well with an electric knife. You might try scoring it into 2" squares and then getting it out with a long handled scraper or shovel. What kind of foam is it? Airex or Polyurethane? Airex will be harder to remove as it takes up some resin and the outside gets hard.
By the Way, are you the same Tally that built the Double Eagle?
