Don't use cypress for chine or sheer logs! They'll break under the stress of bending. I mean like overnight! Came back next day and they broke during the night. Shipwrecked and ain't put it in the water! Boil water and use towels or rags to "steam" chines and sheers. Be sure to wear heavy rubber gloves and protective wear when using hot water. Boat isn't hard to build, follow directions and attack as one small project, then another small project, and then another .... before you know it you have a boat. Use 4 quarter wood. I used 5 quarter and have way too much weight. Use 6 oz. glass for encapsulation and don't even consider polyester resin. Epoxy all the way. Shoot me a line if I can help.
