: Hello.
: I am new to fibreglass and am having trouble.
: I mix the resin and hardener according to the directions. and when i stir it it changes colour from pink to green. I then apply with a brush to the wood. It seems that after a few minutes the resin in my pail starts to change colour again, and this doesnt dry as hard. The next day yhe first bit of resin dries hard but the other stuff is tacky. Do i need more hardener?

compleate mixing is essential! one technique is to mix in one pot and transfer to another pot for application, be sure to scrape bottom and sides when mixing. You may want to use laminating resin, (air inhibited), as this has no wax in it and it will remain tacky when left exposed to air, it is designed for this very purpose so that no dewaxing is required, and, you can pick up where you left off the next day if dirt is left off it. To finish use a general purpose resin, (non air inhibited), over the final layer of cloth.
