This is a little off this subject - but on the topic of "materials" - has anyone discovered today's BEST MARINE PLYWOODs?
I've been trying to follow events in plys, where okyme and meranti seem to be in fashion. And good old AB Douglas-Fir seems to be getting a bad rap?
From perhaps intuition, I'm suspecting that Meranti and possibly Okyme - are more like hard-surfaced furniture plywood, perhaps not as ideal as some would lead us to believe? One builder reflect "...how very thin the outer layers were"?
Any thots, or suggested best sources you could pass along - Fred
