I asked the same questions not too long ago. Personal preferance plays a huge part as far as the style of the boat. Boat construction is another thing to consider. I like inboards (all of the factory ski boats are inboards) but you might like outbaords. I would look at the Audeen or Mist Mist or the Ski King. These are plywood over frame boats and you can get the frame kits for the Audeen and the Mist Miss, I am told the kits are a good value and a real time saver. Good Luck
