Reverse rotation engines are for twin engine boats. This way the props can opposite rotation each other and negate the torque steer. this was for the older trannies such as VelvetDrive type tranny that cannot be run full power in reverse. The newer trannies can be run full power in reverse and as such, you only need a standard rotation engine and turn either a left or right prop with the same tranny. For a single engine boat you can use either rotation engine, you just set the helm up for the rotation you got. Standard rotation engine is a left handed engine looking at the flywheel.
