Wrong answer for a inboard Steve,

Talk to anyone that runs a flattie or a runnerbottom they run full length plates that are split in the middle (or in the case of a runner bottom 3 plates. Even in Glen-Ls catalog they are called cavitation plates, something distinctly different than trim tabs.
