I didn't mean to say that people are making a poor choice when placing their faith in plywood alone. It's just a personal thing, I feel better with the fasteners there. Even though the epoxy is probably more than you'll ever need.

: I take your point about placing faith in the quality of the ply, but if you don't have faith in it why use it? If I had any doubts whatsoever about the quality of the ply I certainly wouldn't be building a boat out of it, a garden shed maybe, but not something that my life may depend on one day!
: The decision to use fasteners or not is a personal one, but I arrived at my decision after consulting every professional wooden boat builder in my area who uses epoxy. Most of them use the same brand and grade of marine ply that I used, from the same supplier. Without their recommendation my decision may have been different, but I figure if that's how the professionals do it then who am I to argue?
: I'd really like to know Glen-L's position on this, should we be using nails, screws, or just epoxy?
