Excuse me, but a Sweet Caroline is still a wood boat and wood alone and by itself does in fact float!!! It can be rained on, swamped or filled with water and breached, the least you have left over is plywood that floats. The motor and other hardware has weight that you can account for in floatation. But the hull by itself will not sink, nor will any pieces thereof.
Try this, take a chunk of plywood, and a chunk of fiberglass, and toss both off the end of the pier and see which one heads to the bottom.
