For your teacher to make a statement like it "couldnt be done" is absurd. That guy needs to understand the difference between it couldnt be done and "hasnt been done". Now the engineering in the boat for that would likely be a project all by itself, not to mention the primary objective.
At one time in history, somebody no doubt said that pile-drivers, dredges, and oil-rigs 'couldnt'
be put on a boat/barge. So then just how do they get those oil-rigs out there where they are?
The anchorage would present another engineering project also, but then, the oil-rigs anchor good enough to run hard pipe all the way to the bottom and hold pressure.
I think it could be done, but at what cost in money, time & effort?
