: I have pumps installed on my epoxy bottles. I put a plastic bag over them and secured it with a rubber band. Is that an acceptable way to leave things? Do I need to take them off and clean them somehow if I'm not going to be doing anything for a few days (like over the holidays)?

If the exoxy is in metal containers then I would recomend that you transfer the hardener to plastic containers. The hardener reacts with the metal and moisture present in the can and changes color, (usually red), the manufacturers claim that this oxidation has no effect on the strength or application of the product but it will no longer be clear. Be sure to shield the plastic bottles from sunlight or other U.V. sources, (you could wrap metal foil around the bottles). Another thing is that thermal expansion may cause the contents of the pump capped cans to leak thereby making a mess and loseing product. The pumps should be flushed with acetone after removal.
