Keep in mind, you have to steer that sucker! If using a direct drive and prop, you will/may have a rudder steering like the old Chris Craft and Century inboards. The Jet Ski nozzel has a steering cable that easliy adapts to wheel, handle bars, or stick steering. In fact in the late 80's Kawasaki came out with a JetMate, a 3 person boat with steeing and throtle in a handpiece similar to a joystick control. Pretty cool once you got the hang of it. I drove one in Lake Havasu when I competed in the World Finals in '87.
The pump is also safer and easier to get water pressure from to cool your motor. I belive an externaly driven pump or electric waterpump is what you may need of you go direct drive. My opinion is I think you will get more speed from a prop than pump. Anyone else out there have an opinion on this subject?
