: I have put together some blinking lights for my little row-boat. I have one side green adn one side red. My question is - what color goes on my right and which should be on the left?

Please check the accuracy of some of the replies concerning the all-around white light. I respectfully disagree. A white nav light is to be on the transom and not visible from the bow, this is to give a sense of direction to another craft. If another craft sees a red/green, then it is coming straight at you. If you see a red/white, then the craft is moving to the left. If you see only white then it is moving away OR at anchor. NEVER should you be able to see a white light with a craft coming straight at you.
There is a difference at anchor though. At anchor you put up an all around white lite, and no red/green. Please indicate if I am incorrect on this.
