Depending on the amount of curvature and whether it is a sinlge curve (1 direction) or compound (2 directions), no special techniques may be required.
I contacted a local plastics distributor (Midland Plastics, New Berlin, WI). They were very helpful in recommending the plastic and thickness to use. I ended up with Polycarbonate (Lexan) which is much tougher than plexiglass. They said they do a lot of boat windshields.
