Didn't you see the photo of the Tornado at the Glen L site, it had a Big Block with a blower on it, it sounds like you know motors. I know that boats like Big Blocks, and I know that a big 500 HP Chevy 502 would NOT work as hard and push a higher pitched prop than a 530HP Chevy 350 Small Block. I like high reving Small Blocks but for a boat you need a Big Block!!
Here in Vermont we had a Hondo with a $6000 475HP Small Block Chevy 327, it was clock at 111MPH, but my old Glen L Hot Rod with an old 400HP Big Block Chevy 396 was quicker, but it would only do 90MPH!!
