The West Marine website (www.westmarine.com) has a lot of useful information about steering systems. I called them yesterday about a steering system question and the guy I talked to was real helpful. In the upper left corner of their website just type "steering" in the search box and you'll get a long list of items to look through. The help-line number is 1-800-BOATING. (No I don't work for them - I just like free information when I find it). Good luck.
