HI,
My family has been in the wood boat building business since 1932. We have been using treated yellow pine for framing since 1979. Never had a problem. Also use bc grade pine plywood, and cover it with 4 layers of fiberglass mat using polyester, yes I said polyster, resin.
We do not use epoxy, we quit with it in 1980, Will not sand, won't dry, etc., etc., etc.
We have never had any glass crack. Our boats are used every week for offshore fishing. And have never had a problem. I am not suggesting you do this, just telling you about modern wood boatbuilding.
