I was going to suggest a well-used Jon boat, maybe 12 feet long. You could get one cheap and it would be much more seaworthy.

But then I saw the message titled "Frank-ly speaking", and was surprised that you asked for more advice! A shame we didn't notice that it was you trying to sell the "boat". I guess I don't enjoy being deceived. It would have been better to just tell us you have this little boat to sell and ask our opinion on what it's worth.

If you built the boat when you were a kid, you should be proud to have accomplished something, even if it's not a viable design. You tried something that seemed good to you at the time, and may have discovered that it only works in a shallow pond. That's ok, that's how we learn! But I question trying to sell it to others, without at least a warning of its limitations. People's lives could be at stake!

Please don't be offended by all this. Take it as another lesson learned, and keep contributing (in positive ways) to the forum!
