Right now your son is 10. If he builds the PEANUT boat it will not meet his needs or desires in even a couple years. He will proably be 12 before it is done anyway. I Strongly suggest getting catalogues showing many boats to look at and choose from. Build the biggest boat that you have the room to build or the piggy bank to afford. When your son wants to take along a friend or go faster, the little boat will be a dissapointment.
I've built small hydroplanes to a big runabout. Look carefully and choose your design wisely.
