Old outboard power heads can be converted sometimes. You'd have to make a plate that adapts the bottom of the power head to water inlet & outlet and exhaust outlet. I saw a power head converted to inboard back in the 60's. You can get ANY size engine you want, from a couple to hundreds of horsepower.
Might be too big a project, but just in case it sounds interesting...
