The info provided by JimM was great! Exactly what I needed. But in addition to the "how-to's" it also showed that I must look into how dry rot originates, how it migrates and how to stop it before it becomes visible "if" it becomes visible.
A lot of work lies ahead in my house now that I spotted the rot, but I know it will be solved, and further problems will be prevented. Thanks, JimM
