I have been following the "to encapsulate, or not to encapsulate" post. I am building small 9 ft boat and every piece has been bare wood coated with epoxy, then glassed, then coated again wth at least two coats of epoxy to get build up and smooth surface, then primer then two to four coats of paint... but not saturated. Does that cpes add alot of weight to the boat?... although I would imagine you would only saturate the entire hull and also the structural members below the water line maybe? Might come in handy for my next boat.
