Steve:
Let me relay the experience we had when we first used the Squirt.

My wife weights 110 and I'm 190. With both of us aboard, the Squirt easily hit 20 mph.

When my wife drove it alone, it was clocked at 26 mph.

I was taking pictures and had her come straight at me full speed and turn away from my boat at the last minute.

I did not put a fin on the Squirt but I did install a whale tale on the motor to assure there was no porpoising. Without a fin the boat actually slips or skids a bit through the turn because the bottom is relatively flat and smooth. The chine isn't all that hard, so there's not that much "bite" to worry about.

You can actually see how much it leaned by going to www.cnwmr.com and holding the mouse over the static picture of the Squirt. It'll change to an action shot.

I guess what I'm saying is that your son should not be able to get himself into too much trouble if any. At least not from a handling standpoint. (I have three sons. Believe me, I know they can turn brushing their teeth into an X Game.) I don't know if that helps, but there you go.

Best,
Art

: Art, can you put that thing in a tight turn and not worry about losing it? I was wondering if I put a 15hp on it with my son in it alone (He weighs 100lbs) if he could do anything extremely dangerous. I on the other hand top out at 225 so I doubt it can outperform my weight. Thanks Steve
